MAKARRATA LIVE

MIDNIGHT OIL will perform a handful of special outdoor concerts called "Makarrata Live" including Sirromet Wines in Mount Cotton, QLD and Mt Duneed Estate in Geelong, VIC.

Leading First Nations vocalists DAN SULTAN, ALICE SKYE, TROY CASSAR-DALEY, TASMAN KEITH and LEAH FLANAGAN will join the band for all Makarrata Live dates. Accompanied by backing vocalist LIZ STRINGER and saxophonist ANDY BICKERS.

Plus special support sets from DAN SULTAN and ALICE SKYE at Mt Duneed Estate, Geelong.

Sydney bassist Adam Ventoura will also play with MIDNIGHT OIL at these shows due to the sudden passing of longtime band member Bones Hillman late last year.

Midnight Oil's mini-album The Makarrata Project topped the ARIA charts last November. Next month the band will finally bring that acclaimed new music, plus a slew of other iconic Midnight Oil Reconciliation songs, to Australian concert stages for five special outdoor events.

These shows will seek to elevate The Uluru Statement From The Heart which calls for a Makarrata - or "truth telling".

“We’re relieved and excited at the thought of finally playing music to live audiences again,” said Midnight Oil frontman Peter Garrett. “Lots of the songs which have struck the deepest chords with our audiences over the years, like Beds Are Burning, Jimmy Sharman’s Boxers, The Dead Heart and Truganini, revolve around Indigenous issues so we’re definitely inspired to be playing a set that combines older songs like those with newer songs that share similar lyrical themes.”

All shows will take place in strict accordance with each state's COVID19 protocols.

General Admission Lawn tickets are available to purchase in groups of 4, 5 or 6 only, due to COVID19 restrictions, reduced capacities and health management requirements in this area. Ticket purchasers may be allocated into a designated area within the GA Rear Lawn area and your group of 4,5 or 6 (as per your Ticketmaster Order number) would remain together within this designated area. Friends and family that have purchased separately are unable to be positioned next to you.

This event is Licensed All Ages. EVERY patron must have a ticket regardless of age, and under 18 patrons must be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult with their own ticket. This is a licensed, loud music event, staged over a long time: we strongly recommend that this event is suitable for adults only.

FROM MELBOURNE
Starting at the West Gate Fwy head West on M1 Stay on the M1 following the signs to Colac (84km).

Turn left onto Pettavel Rd, Destination will be on the left (850 m)

FROM GEELONG CBD
Head south on La Trobe Tce/Princes Highway/A10 towards Little Myers St. Continue to follow Princes Highway/A10 (8.7 km).

At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto the M1 ramp to Torquay/Great Ocean Road/Colac (350 m).

Merge onto M1 towards Colac (5.5 km).

Turn left onto Pettavel Rd, Destination will be on the left (850 m).

Transport and Accommodation

PARKING
Parking is available onsite at Mt Duneed Estate for a parking fee of $30 per vehicle. If you CAR-POOL to the event and arrive in a vehicle with 4 or more paying ticket holders, you will NOT be charged for parking.

Please Note: There are no refunds for pre-paid parking if you arrive with four or more passengers. There is separate Concert & Dining parking on site.

Wet weather contingency for parking: Off site parking and a complimentary bus shuttle will be made available in the event that onsite parking is effected by heavy rain fall. Please check our website before you head out to the concert.

DISABLED PARKING
There will be limited disabled parking spaces available at Mt Duneed you must pre book these spaces by registering here, there is no charge for this parking. Please note that this event is held at a winery and therefore there are some uneven and rough surfaces.

PRIVATE COACH PARKING
Private coach parking must be pre-registered here. Please specify the capacity of the coach you are bringing and it’s rego.
