The Killers Announce Special Guests

20th October, 2022

Australian tour kicks off next month
including A DAY ON THE GREEN in VIC and SA

Roundhouse Entertainment, Frontier Touring and The Killers are thrilled to announce the special guests for their Imploding The Mirage Tour 2022 – the genre-busting pop narrator Alex Cameron with his full band, and Australian rock singer-songwriter, guitarist, composer Jack Ladder for their Imploding The Mirage Tour 2022. Joining the line-up in the Barossa Valley will be alt-pop faves Floodlights.

Kicking off next month, the tour will play a huge 11-date mix of arena and outdoor shows across Australia and New Zealand including two special a day on the green shows at Peter Lehmann, Barossa Valley on Saturday 3 December and Mt Duneed Estate, Geelong on Saturday 10 December.

Australian-raised Alex Cameron will perform as the special guest in Geelong, with Sydney-based artist Jack Ladder opening proceedings. Melbourne indie-pop rockers Floodlights will open the show in the Barossa Valley, joining Jack Ladder on the SA bill.

The shimmering star of Alex Cameron continues to shine bright; he’s a songwriter par excellence – conceptual and authentic and one of music’s most exciting artists. The effortlessly catchy synth-pop star and his sultry six-piece live band – including sax player and collaborator Roy Molloy – are a dynamic force, equal parts hip-thrusting rhythm and tongue-tantalising tunes.

Cameron’s repertoire of hits include Real Bad Lookin’, Far From Born Again, Happy Ending, Candy May, Studmuffin96, Sara Jo, and 2022’s Best Life and K-Hole.

Cameron has played stages such as Primavera, Laneway, Roskilde, Wide Awake Festival and many more, with his own Australia and New Zealand headline tour confirmed for November/December.

In the sixteen years since his debut album, Jack Ladder’s varied musical journey has been notable for some sharp stylistic turns but has always been connected by a singular song writing talent.

Ladder’s hard work ethic and unique approach to songwriting has paid off in releasing seven studio albums (including 2021’s Hijack!) and by working alongside some of the brightest names in the business – Bill Callahan, Angel Olsen, John Cale, Sharon Van Etten, Father John Misty, Weyes Blood, Alex Cameron, Kirin J Callinan, Florence + the Machine and The Killers.

Career hits include Come On Back This Way feat. Sharon Van Etten, Cold Feet, Susan, I Can’t Drink the Water, Hurtsville, Astronaut and Beautiful Sound.

Floodlights make raw, honest, dynamic rock music that melds ’80s alternative rock with ’90s New Zealand jangle-pop. Their live performance is intimate at times, intertwined with large powerful outbursts. In 2019 their sold-out self-released debut 10” vinyl EP Backyard, containing the single Nullarbor, gained them an abundance of global attention. With a reissue of the EP on Spunk Records, and release of their 2020 debut LP From a View, the band continued to gain critical acclaim and are set to release their follow-up album in early 2023. The band’s new single Human is out now.

Don’t miss The Killers with special guests Alex Cameron, Jack Ladder and Floodlights live this November and December!
