NOISEWORKS - BOWRAL
23rd January, 2012A CELEBRATION OF CLASSIC OZ ROCK!
NOISEWORKS, IAN MOSS, RICHARD CLAPTON, DRAGON, 1927 & CHOIRBOYS!
CENTENNIAL VINEYARDS, BOWRAL - SUNDAY MARCH 25
Since 2001, a day on the green has taken some of Australia’s greatest music to some of its greatest natural landscapes. The current summer season is the 12th year of the popular outdoor event and more than 2 million fans have attended the concerts.
Centennial Vineyards, Bowral has been the site of some of the event’s most memorable concerts and the classic Australian rock line-up of NOISEWORKS, IAN MOSS, RICHARD CLAPTON, DRAGON, 1927 & CHOIRBOYS could well rank amongst the very best!
Rolling Stone described Jon Stevens as having “one of the most powerful rock voices Australia has ever heard”, and Noiseworks will celebrate some of the finest moments in Australian rock. NOISEWORKS were formed in Sydney in 1984 and the 80’s rock era was never the same again. ‘Take Me Back’, ‘Hot Chilli Woman’, ‘No Lies’ and ‘Touch’ were smash hits that helped propel the band to enormous popularity across Australia. Noiseworks are ready to rock Bowral!
There are few guitarists in rock who have the sheer breadth of touch and experience of IAN MOSS. From the scorching cold of “Khe Sanh” to the acoustic-led cool of the ARIA #1 “Tucker’s Daughter” Moss has proven himself one of Australia’s most gifted musicians. Arguably his most celebrated composition, the timeless “Tuckers Daughter” alone should ensure him “national treasure” status.
RICHARD CLAPTON has endeared himself to music-lovers everywhere through his heartfelt inspired performances and a songbook that defines our times. With hits like ‘Girls On The Avenue’, ‘Deep Water’, ‘Capricorn Dancer’ and ‘I Am An Island’ Richard was a thoroughly deserving and popular inductee into the ARIA Hall Of Fame.
With an extraordinary run of chart-toppers including ‘Are You Old Enough’, ‘April Sun In Cuba’, ‘Still In Love With You’, ‘Rain’ and many others, DRAGON has been one of Australasia’s biggest-ever pop bands.
The unique partnership of 1927 with lead singer Eric Weideman and the acclaimed CHOIRBOYS with their anthem ‘Run To Paradise’ and more recently ‘Boys Will Be Boys’ are rock legends who remain a fantastic live act.
Noiseworks, Ian Moss, Richard Clapton, Dragon, 1927 and Choirboys – see you at Bowral!
