KATE MILLER-HEIDKE
RETURNS TO THE STAGE FOR 15-DATE NATIONAL CHILD IN REVERSE TOUR SEP – DEC 2021

INCLUDING TWO A DAY ON THE GREEN “CELLAR DOOR SERIES” SHOWS
TICKETS ON SALE WEDNESDAY 23 JUNE

Roundhouse Entertainment and Frontier Touring are delighted to announce award-winning singer-songwriter KATE MILLER HEIDKE’S Child In Reverse Tour, taking place across September, October, November and December 2021. Joined by her six-piece band, the tour will see Kate play regional towns and cities across Australia, performing 15 shows over four months, including two CELLAR DOOR SERIES shows – one at Victoria’s Rochford Wines and one at Western Australia’s Nikola Estate.

Developed by the team behind Australia’s iconic outdoor summer concert series a day on the green, the CELLAR DOOR SERIES offers an up-close, intimate, boutique experience adjacent to the cellar doors of some of the most picturesque wineries across the country, featuring a day on the green’s trademark good food, fine wine and great music in magnificent locations.

"It has felt like an eternity waiting for this tour to begin. I’ll be playing with my favourite musicians and we are bursting with joy and excitement at the prospect of hitting the road again after so long. We will be premiering some brand new material plus selecting some deep cuts from the back catalogue, as well as celebrating some old favourites.

Playing live has always been a pivotal part of what I do - the connection with you all and sharing loved moments in time and space. This one is going to be special." Kate Miller-Heidke

Tickets go on sale Wednesday 23 June at 12pm local time from Ticketmaster.

‘With a range that extends beyond the operatic and into the stratospheric, Kate Miller-Heidke may be a vocal show pony but she is certainly not of the one-trick variety. She is equal measures quirky alt-pop princess, musical theatre songwriter, empowered protest singer, classical diva and yearning folk balladeer.’ ★★★★★ The Adelaide Advertiser

Traversing the worlds of contemporary pop, folk and opera, Kate has released five studio albums including the top 5 albums O Vertigo!, Nightflight, and Curiouser, which reached double platinum sales and featured the multi-platinum hits The Last Day On Earth and Caught In The Crowd. Further hits from the multi-ARIA nominated vocal powerhouse include Zero Gravity, Share Your Air featuring Passenger, Sarah and Ride This Feeling.

Her fifth studio album, 2020’s Top 10 ARIA Album Child In Reverse (EMI Music Australia) – hailed as her most pop album to date – spawned the singles, This Is Not Forever, Deluded, A Quiet Voice, Little Roots, Little Shoots and Simpatico featuring Mallrat.

Trained as a classical singer at the Queensland Conservatorium, Kate’s work is as diverse as her voice. She has performed at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, dazzled in several roles for the English National Opera, won four Helpmann Awards for her debut opera as a composer, The Rabbits, written the music and lyrics (with her collaborator Keir Nuttall) to Muriel’s Wedding: The Musical and represented Australia at Eurovision in 2019 with her original song Zero Gravity – coming first in her semi-final and achieving a top 10 placing in the Grand Final.

Staying busy throughout 2020, Kate performed a very special rendition of Whitney Houston’s I Wanna Dance With Somebody for Mushroom Group and Visit Victoria’s The State Of Music, recorded at Kate’s home during lockdown, and a first-ever live performance of her single Deluded for ABC TV’s The Sound. Kate also appeared as the much-loved ‘Queen’ on Network Ten’s The Masked Singer in 2020, performing spine-tingling renditions under the mask, including Blinding Lights, Dancing On My Own and Paint It Black, before her revealing finale of I Will Survive.

‘Impossible to pigeon-hole, the multi-talented artist offered an evening that mixed pop delight and cabaret intrigue.’ Limelight

Kate has been nominated for ARIAs in categories varying from Best Pop Release, Best Adult Contemporary Album, Best Classical Album, Best Cast Recording, Best Comedy Release and Best Australian Live Act.

‘Miller-Heidke always seems to have another vocal gear – and she works as effectively both in taking things up a notch, or moving into more delicate territory. Such was the case with the inevitable encore, her Eurovision entry, ‘Zero Gravity’, which took on an entirely new and poignant dimension...’ InDaily

Launched in May in the Hunter Valley with Ben Folds, a day on the green’s inaugural CELLAR DOOR SERIES event was warmly received by punters and critics alike.

“Kudos to the promoters for revamping the A Day On The Green model to embrace the changed confidence of the live music punter, who might be concerned about large crowds and how COVID-19 restrictions like social distancing are managed in a festival environment … Each group of ticket holders had their own space, clearly marked on the ground, and there was ample room to move between your seat, the amenities and food stalls and bar. The totem tennis sets were a nice touch for the mixed-age crowd, with children, and the young at heart, playing together in a spirit of fun … The Cellar Door Series looks to be a good solution to possible punter concerns, while still delivering on the A Day on the Green promise of a good time, great food and wine in a relaxed atmosphere.” Newcastle Live

Roundhouse Entertainment Promoter Michael Newton said: “The CELLAR DOOR SERIES will ease a day on the green fans back into live music safely without compromising on quality entertainment. The concept looks a bit different – as well as the smaller capacity, the CELLAR DOOR SERIES will start and finish earlier, with the show ending before sunset and only two artists on the bill.

“Twenty years and nearly 500 shows since we launched a day on the green, it’s exciting to introduce something new that complements the a day on the green experience.”

The CELLAR DOOR SERIES will also offer a range of food and beverages for sale, including food trucks, premium wines, champagne and craft beers.

Operating under an approved COVID-safe plan, ticket buyers to the CELLAR DOOR SERIES will be in a socially distanced seated general admission environment with patrons required to bring their own standard camping chairs.

Events will be managed in line with the latest State and Federal Government health advice and guidelines regarding physical distancing and venue capacity with respect to public gatherings.

Welcome to the CELLAR DOOR SERIES – a reimagining of what a day out at a winery
looks and sounds like.

Special guest to be announced to open the CELLAR DOOR SERIES shows.

Secure tickets early to avoid missing out on this power-house voice!

Tickets on sale on Wednesday 23 June at 12pm local time.
