It will be the first time a day on the green has presented two concerts in Armidale in the one season.
Promoter Michael Newton said: “We had the opportunity to do this show with Jimmy and knew it would be fantastic for Armidale so it was a no-brainer really. We’ve gone all out to put together five incredible bands so this is going to be a spectacular day at Petersons.”
Jimmy is no stranger to the a day on the green stage, both as a solo performer and with Cold Chisel, and always loves the experience.
“I’ve played many a day on the green concerts over the years both with my band and with Cold Chisel and we’ve always had an absolute blast,” Jimmy says. “It’s a fantastic way to enjoy music, sitting back with your friends in a great location. a day on the green’s support of Australian music should be commended because the line-ups are first-class. We all have a great time catching up backstage! There’s always a good feeling across the whole day which makes it a pleasure to play.”
After a record breaking fifteen #1 albums, Jimmy can now also say he's a chart topping author. His acclaimed childhood memoir "Working Class Boy" was officially Australia's top selling book for three weeks and has been #1 on the non-fiction chart for 6 weeks.
On stage Jimmy will be tearing through all his classic hits, Working Class Man, Khe Sahn, Flame Trees, I’d Die To Be With You Tonight, No Second Prize, Too Much Ain’t Enough Love and more!
And how’s this for a stellar list of special guests.
THE ANGELS debuted on the a day on the green stage in 2012 and received what can only be described as an overwhelmingly raucous reception! Since joining in 2011, front man Dave Gleeson has totally re-energised the band, prompting two albums of new material ‘Take It To The Streets’ (2012 – their first studio album in 14 years) and ‘Talk The Talk’ (2014) and a renewed love of touring resulting in constant sold out shows around the country. In 2015 they also toured internationally, their first overseas shows in many years, performing in Paris, London and Sweden. With new songs and their classic back catalogue of tracks such as Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again, No Secrets, Face The Day, Take A Long Line, Marseilles and Shadowboxer to name a few, they are revered for their live shows and are playing better than ever!

With the distinctive guitar playing and powerhouse vocals that he has become renowned for, Diesel’s high-energy live sets feature songs spanning his 15-album career. With hits like Cry In Shame, Tip Of My Tongue, Don’t Need Love, Soul Revival, Never Miss Your Water, Man Alive he is always a huge crowd pleaser.
THE BLACK SORROWS continue to be one of Australia’s most enduring touring bands. At the helm, Joe Camilleri steers the band through an energetic interplay of solid grooves and well- crafted songs that mix those well-worn ingredients of blues, soul, R&B, gospel, country and pop. Recently The Black Sorrows released their 18th album Faithful Satellite which has been acclaimed as perhaps their best ever. Writer of milestone Australian songs such as So Young, Hit And Run, Shape I’m In, Hold On To Me, Harley and Rose, Chained To The Wheel, Never Let Me Go and the Chosen Ones, Joe Camilleri’s music has become part of Australian music culture.
THE BADLOVES are an Australian soul & RnB band formed by front man Michael Spiby in Melbourne. They have released six albums, won two Australian Music Awards, three ARIA awards and produced hits like Lost, Green Limousine, I Remember, and a cover of The Weight with Jimmy Barnes.
