CROWDED HOUSE ANNOUNCE NEW DATES
AND CITIES TO SOLD-OUT AUSTRALIAN TOUR
INCLUDING A DAY ON THE GREEN SHOWS IN GEELONG AND HUNTER VALLE

Dreamers Are Waiting Tour, April 2022 – First Tour in 12 Years

Award-winning icons CROWDED HOUSE have today announced additional dates and locations for their Australian Dreamers Are Waiting Tour. Roundhouse Entertainment, in conjunction with Live Nation, is thrilled to announce that these new shows also include a day on the green dates at Mt Duneed Estate, Geelong, on Saturday 23 April and at Bimbadgen, Hunter Valley, on Sunday 24 April.

The Australian tour follows their 2021 New Zealand tour during which they played to full houses, rapturous audiences and universal critical acclaim, and mark CROWDED HOUSE’s first national Australian tour since 2010, and only their third Australian tour during the last 15 years.

CROWDED HOUSE were awarded Best Adult Contemporary Album for Dreamers Are Waiting at the 2021 ARIA Awards, and nominated for Best Record at the Sailor Jerry Rolling Stone Awards 2022, which will be held in Sydney on 30 March.

Tickets for the new shows go on sale at 11.00am (local time) on Thursday 24 February from Ticketmaster.

ANGUS & JULIA STONE and THE WAIFS join the a day on the green line-up at Mt Duneed Estate, Geelong, while Bimbadgen, Hunter Valley will welcome COURTNEY BARNETT and THE WAIFS to the bill.

THE TESKEY BROTHERS will join CROWDED HOUSE at the sold-out a day on the green show at Centennial Vineyards, Bowral, on 16 April.

CROWDED HOUSE unveiled a new line-up last year, featuring founding members Neil Finn and Nick Seymour, along with producer and keyboardist Mitchell Froom, guitarist and singer Liam Finn and drummer Elroy Finn.

They released their seventh studio album Dreamers Are Waiting last June, featuring the singles Whatever You Want, Playing With Fire, To The Island, Love Isn’t Hard At All and latest offering, Sweet Tooth.

CROWDED HOUSE is a long-standing and much-loved vehicle for the song writing talents of Neil Finn. Formed in Melbourne Australia in 1985 out the ashes of New Zealand’s Split Enz by Neil, Paul Hester and Nick Seymour, their eponymous self-titled debut album on Capitol Records went on to global success with the hits Don’t Dream It’s Over and Something So Strong. Those songs and many that followed are still resonating with audiences today; the former, in particular, being one of the most covered songs of the last 30 years. The band’s first incarnation lasted from 1985 through 1995, produced 4 studio albums and enjoyed much success worldwide, becoming particularly beloved for their freewheeling and interactive live shows. This line-up said Farewell to the World on the steps of the Sydney Opera House in 1996 with a now legendary performance in front of 150,000 people.

In 2005 following the tragic death of Paul Hester, Neil and Nick felt emotionally compelled to bring CROWDED HOUSE back, to put some more “good history”, as they described it, into the story of the band. Drafting in new drummer Matt Sherrod and with long-time touring member Mark Hart they released the album Time On Earth to critical acclaim and toured the world. Another album, Intriguer, was recorded in 2009 and Crowded House was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2016, at the same time reprising its Farewell shows at the Sydney Opera House with 4 nights of stunning performances, the last of which was broadcast nationally on ABC-TV.

In 2021 ANGUS & JULIA STONE released their unexpected, unguarded, unforgettable fifth album, Life Is Strange, a soundtrack record that might also just be one of the pair’s most immediate, most beautifully rendered sets yet. Led by Love Song, a warm, gently warped pop song among the most beautiful the duo have ever made, this new album acts as a kind of showcase of just how enviable the band’s craftsmanship has become over the past 15 years. In the years since releasing their acclaimed fourth record, 2017’s Snow, the pair have embarked on searching, successful, and creatively fulfilling solo journeys: Angus with his beloved, kaleidoscopic Dope Lemon project, and Julia with Sixty Summers, her moonlit journey to pop’s avant-garde fringes. After years as a decorated, celebrated duo, with a catalogue spanning everything from spectral folk to richly-woven indie pop, the pair were content in their lives as solo artists, and in their relationship as siblings first and bandmates second.

Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter, 6 x ARIA Award winner and Brit and Grammy award nominee COURTNEY BARNETT has been celebrated as one of the most distinctive, crucial and compelling voices in indie rock – a writer who mixes witty, hilarious and occasionally heartbreaking observations with devastating self-assessment, where fragments of everyday life become rich and riveting. One of Australia’s most successful musical exports, COURTNEY BARNETT has earned countless accolades and fans across the globe with tracks including Pedestrian At Best, Nameless, Faceless, Need A Little Time, Before You Gotta Go and Avant Gardener, and her powerhouse live performances have seen her perform at festivals around the world. Released in November last year, her third full-length album, Things Take Time, Take Time, consolidated her reputation as a storyteller of intimate, poignant Australian tales.

Melbourne four-piece THE TESKEY BROTHERS are a rare musical gem who have wowed audiences at home and all over the world with their raw combination of soul and blues, their timeless recordings, stunning live shows and singer Josh Teskey’s era-defying voice. Their 2019 sophomore album, Run Home Slow, debuted at number 2 on the ARIA album chart and received critical acclaim globally. In 2020 they released their Live At The Forum album, resulting in their first number 1 album on the ARIA chart. Their latest album, recorded with Orchestra Victoria, Live At Hamer Hall sees the band continue to push the boundaries of musical possibilities.

2022 marks 30 years since folk-rockers THE WAIFS began their career playing gigs around the country in their well-travelled van, leading to multiple ARIA awards, platinum albums and many successful tours around the world. Their abundant choruses, intoxicating instrumentals, lush and joyful harmonies and enchanting live shows have won them many loyal fans along the way. A unique chemistry and profound depth of songwriting talent has bound the 3 original members – Donna Simpson, her sister Vikki Thorn, and Josh Cunningham. Their potent, classic singalong hits, including London Still, Lighthouse and Bridal Train, burst with nostalgia and memories that they’ve collected through 3 decades on the road together.

Dreamers Are Waiting heralds a further chapter in the CROWDED HOUSE story. A new generation has grown up and connected with their songs and will now get to experience the band live as they perform legendary anthems from the band’s 35-year career, along with fresh new music.

Tickets for the new dates go on sale Thursday 24 February at 11am local time.
