Kasey Chambers, with special guest Shane Nicholson, James Reyne, Ian Moss, Wendy Matthews and Mental As Anything will all take the stage at Robert Oatley Vineyards on Saturday October 31.
These five multi Award-winning artists have provided some of the most memorable songs in Aussie music history – hits like ‘Am I Not Pretty Enough’, ‘The Captain’, ‘Bow River’, ‘Tucker’s Daughter’, ‘The Boys Light Up’, ‘Reckless’, ‘I Don’t Wanna Be With Nobody But You’, ‘The Day You Went Away’, ‘Live It Up’ and ‘The Nips Are Getting Bigger’ to name just a few!
Acclaimed for their songs, musical expertise and brilliant live performances, this year’s ‘a day on the green’ is first-class quality music across the whole day in a great value-for-money concert.
THE ARTISTS:
KASEY CHAMBERS
Kasey and husband Shane Nicholson continue to enjoy great success from their collaborative album “Rattlin’ Bones”. The album reached #1 on the ARIA Charts, has achieved platinum status, taken out ARIA, APRA and Golden Guitar awards and has been lauded as arguably the finest record of Kasey’s stellar career – and that’s saying something! With more than one million albums sold, Kasey’s heartfelt music has made her one of our most-loved and acclaimed female artists.
JAMES REYNE
With his unique vocal style and prolific song-writing, James Reyne has earned his stripes as one of our home-grown greats. With one of the most distinctive voices in Aussie music, James’s songs from Australian Crawl through Company Of Strangers to his platinum-lined solo records have resonated with audiences everywhere. Expect a massive Mudgee sing-a-long as James rolls out some Aussie classics.
IAN MOSS
There are few performers in the country that can rock a house like Ian ‘Mossy’ Moss. Drawing from the still-incredible Cold Chisel songs that left an indelible mark on Australian music history, plus tracks from his solo career, Mossy’s sweet soaring voice and incredible guitar playing combine to produce a magical concert. Most recently Mossy has been in New York recording a new album set for release later this year titled ‘Soul On West 53rd’, which sees him covering some of his favourite soul and blues classics. Get set for an unforgettable show from this master musician.
WENDY MATTHEWS
The sublime voice and on-stage charm of Wendy Matthews will be a perfect way to enjoy the late afternoon. With a massive 19 singles, 7 top selling multi-platinum albums and 7 ARIA awards, Wendy moves between jazz, blues, pop and soul with a simple yet moving grace. Her current album “She” is a personal collection of favourite songs by woman who have inspired her from Bonnie Raitt to Joni Mitchell and Chrissie Hynde.
MENTAL AS ANYTHING
Mental As Anything is currently celebrating their 30th anniversary with a fab double CD collection called “Essential As Anything”. It features 24 of the band’s classic pop hits and is a timely reminder of the iconic place they hold in Aussie music history.
