HOODOO GURUS AND THE ANGELS - Rochford Wines, Yarra Valley - Saturday December 6

'a day on the green' WITH HOODOO GURUS AND THE ANGELS!
Rochford Wines, Yarra Valley - Saturday December 6
The mighty HOODOO GURUS and the reformed original ANGELS will headline the next 'a day on the green' at Rochford Wines, Yarra Valley.
With MARK SEYMOUR, RICHARD CLAPTON and EVEN also performing, this is set to be a kick-ass shot of vintage Aussie rock perfectly timed to capture the end-of-year Xmas spirit!
Roundhouse Entertainment has to date announced events with John Mellencamp/Sheryl Crow and Alicia Keys for the 2008/2009 'a day on the green' summer season but domestic line-ups are always a major part of the calendar as well.
This is the third concert nationally headlined by the Hoodoo Gurus (following Mudgee NSW and Perth WA) and continues the event's fine support of Aussie music.
THE ARTISTS:
HOODOO GURUS' high octane brand of garage pop/rock has thrilled fans in Australia and around the world for more than twenty years. They've topped charts and produced classic anthems like 'What's My Scene', 'Bittersweet', 'Come Any Time', 'One Thousand Miles Away', 'My Girl' and 'Like Wow - Wipeout' on their way to cult hero status.
The band was a popular inductee in the 2007 ARIA Hall of Fame, honouring their incredible contribution and influence on the Australian scene. Following last year's US tour, the Gurus have just completed a UK/European tour, which included a performance at the world famous Glastonbury Festival.
THE ANGELS - After ten years apart, seminal Aussie rockers THE ANGELS put past differences aside to reunite and blitzed audiences everywhere on their recent shows. The classic lineup of Doc Neeson, John Brewster, Rick Brewster, Chris Bailey and Graham 'Buzz' Bidstrup are a powerhouse tour de force on stage cranking out hits like 'Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again', 'Marseilles', 'After The Rain', 'Take A Long Line', 'Shadow Boxer' and 'No Secrets'.
A remastered 30th anniversary edition of the 'No Exit' album and re-releases of all their classic albums have coincided with the band's reunion. Undoubtedly one of the truly great Australian rock bands, fans can now revisit those halcyon days!
MARK SEYMOUR - As front man of Hunters and Collectors, MARK SEYMOUR has been responsible for some of Australian music's greatest moments from 'Throw Your Arms Around Me' to 'You Don't Make Me Feel Like I'm A Woman Anymore'.
His 2007 album 'Westgate' received stunning reviews whilst his second Liberation Blue acoustic album 'Titanic' has just been released featuring many of H&C's best-loved songs retooled into potent acoustic form. It is true to say Mark has never sounded better.
RICHARD CLAPTON's passionate rock'n'roll heart empowers all his live performances and songs like 'Girls On The Avenue', 'Goodbye Tiger', 'Deep Water', 'Best Years Of Our Lives' are just a few of the reasons why Richard is always a such a huge crowd favourite at 'a day on the green' events.
EVEN continue to blaze a bright trail through the indie scene here and internationally through the recent release of their self-titled 5th album. Three years in the making, the inspired trio has produced a corker and is touring hard to support it. Fresh from a great performance at Splendour In The Grass, this is their 'a day on the green' debut.
