Australia's favourite winery event 'a day on the green' returns to Oatley Wines Craigmoor on Saturday October 18 with another sensational line-up.
This will be the 8th concert in Mudgee and is set to be another not-to-be-missed musical feast! Headlining will be the mighty HOODOO GURUS and the reformed original ANGELS in a huge double shot of vintage Aussie rock.
MODELS, fronted by Sean Kelly and James Freud, and the irresistible pop of DRAGON will be the special guest support acts, with local band McGee kicking off the day.
The 2006 and 2007 'a day on the green' sold out in record time, with last year's two concerts with Jimmy Barnes being a first-ever and a significant highlight in the event's Mudgee history.
With HOODOO GURUS, THE ANGELS, MODELS and DRAGON, Roundhouse Entertainment has delivered another red hot concert line-up. Tickets are on sale from Friday August 1.
THE ARTISTS:
HOODOO GURUS' high octane brand of garage pop/rock has thrilled fans in Australia and around the world for more than twenty years. They've topped charts and produced classic anthems like 'What's My Scene', 'Bittersweet', 'Come Any Time', 'One Thousand Miles Away', 'My Girl' and 'Like Wow - Wipeout' on their way to cult hero status.
The band was a popular inductee in the 2007 ARIA Hall of Fame, honouring their incredible contribution and influence on the Australian scene. Their live reputation is second to none - anyone who sees a Gurus gig is infected for life! Following last year's US tour, the Gurus are currently touring the UK/Europe, which included a performance at the world famous Glastonbury Festival.
THE ANGELS - After ten years apart, seminal Aussie rockers THE ANGELS put past differences aside to reunite last month and are currently blitzing audiences everywhere. The classic lineup of Doc Neeson, John Brewster, Rick Brewster, Chris Bailey and Graham 'Buzz' Bidstrup are a powerhouse tour de force on stage cranking out hits like 'Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again', 'Marseilles', 'After The Rain', 'Take A Long Line', 'Shadow Boxer' and 'No Secrets'.
A remastered 30th anniversary edition of the 'No Exit' album and re-releases of all their classic albums are scheduled to coincide with the band's reunion. Undoubtedly one of the truly great Australian rock bands, fans can now revisit those halcyon days - look out Mudgee, THE ANGELS are set to cause pandemonium again!
MODELS - With Sean Kelly and James Freud at the helm, THE MODELS were one of the few 80s bands that straddled critical acclaim, cult appeal and commercial success. Beside an appearance in the 2006 Countdown Spectacular, the band's upcoming shows with the two charismatic front men are the first in eight years. Look forward to hearing all their eclectic hits including 'I Hear Motion', 'Big On Love', 'Out Of Mind Out Of Sight' and 'Barbados'.
DRAGON - With an unforgettable run of chart-toppers like 'Are You Old Enough', 'April Sun In Cuba', 'Still In Love With You', 'Rain', 'Get That Jive' and many others, DRAGON's legacy is of one of Australasia's most successful pop bands. Joined two years ago after a lengthy hiatus by rock veteran Mark Williams as frontman, a revitalised DRAGON are thrilled to be back on stage again. The band's contribution to Australian music history was recognized when they were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame on July 1.
McGEE - Fronted by the powerhouse vocals of 22-year-old Jess Holland, this local Mudgee four-piece has been together for two years and mixes youth with experienced players. The band are lovers of great rock music and took their name from legend Janis Joplin's song 'Me & Bobby McGee'. McGee are thrilled to be opening the show and playing to the biggest crowd of their career.
