CONCERT CANCELLED DUE TO BAD WEATHER
Roundhouse Entertainment, promoters of 'a day on the green' regret to advise that today's concert at Centennial Vineyards, Bowral has been cancelled.
The decision has been made due to concerns for the safety of the 7000 patrons attending the event. It follows a meeting on site with traffic authorities, local police, the winery and promoters.
The heavy rain this week has left many areas of the winery under water, and despite the best efforts of the site management team, there are still several areas of the site that provide a safety risk.
Today's weather forecast in Bowral is for continued light showers, which means there is no prospect of the situation improving.
Joe Cocker, Jimmy Barnes and Mia Dyson have been advised of the cancellation by promoters and sincerely regret not being able to perform.
Promoter Michael Newton said: 'a day on the green' has been running for seven years and 115 shows and this is the first concert ever not to proceed, so I suppose we have been very lucky in that respect.
'We are deeply disappointed about cancelling the show and it is not a decision that has been taken lightly, but our priority has to be for the safety and comfort of our patrons, and we are not prepared to put that at risk. We have been on site and monitoring the situation hourly with the hope that the concert could go ahead, but as of this morning it is clear that is not possible. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.'
The event will be staged at Sirromet Winery in Queensland tomorrow (Sunday), making it impossible to postpone the Bowral concert to another date due to Joe Cocker's touring schedule.
Full refunds will be available for all ticket holders from their point of purchase.
