Where were you in 1981? When New Zealand's most iconic pop-rock band The Dance Exponents first formed in the friendly South Island town of Timaru?
Get set for the biggest down under reunion of all-time with The Class Of ‘81 at Villa Maria Estate Winery in February 2012. A gathering of old friends and musical heroes getting back together for what will be a mighty celebration with some of Australasia’s best known songs and artists, and every song’s a hit!

Villa Maria Estate is located 30 minutes south of Auckland city at 118 Montgomery Road, Mangere. Alternatively if you are coming from the airport, it is just a 5 minute taxi ride. Villa Maria Estate is the perfect setting for relaxing outdoor concerts. Situated amongst vineyards in the centre of a volcanic crater, the area is a natural amphitheatre, providing acoustic benefits.
Villa Maria is one of New Zealand's leading winemakers. A family owned New Zealand winery founded in 1961 by its current owner and Managing Director, George Fistonich, Villa Maria is 100% New Zealand owned. New Zealand's leading wine award winner Villa Maria has been New Zealand's leading wine award winner, both nationally and internationally since the early 1980's.
Please note pre-paid tickets for concerts at Villa Maria will only be available for collection from 30 mins prior to gates opening on the day of the concert.
TRANSPORT - FLIGHTS TO AUCKLAND
Flights to Auckland can be arranged through any flight provider and there are a variety of taxis available within greater Auckland. Parking will be available in the grounds.
TRANSPORT - CONCERT DAY
Buses
Bus departs from 172 Quay Street at 3pm/pick up Mitchelson St at 3.30pm (opposite the TAB Staff Parking. Motorway side of Ellerslie Racecourse) and onto Villa Maria Estate from there. The bus will leave the venue promptly after the concert from the main entrance and will drop you off at the locations you were collected from. Please be at all bus stops 10 minutes prior to departure.
Parking
There are two carparks for public use at Villa Maria. The Southern Carpark via Pavillion Drive and the Northern Carpark via Oruarangi Road. Mobility carpark is accessed via the VIP entrance.
Please note: don't park on Mitchelson St as we will need to park the buses.
Taxis
Taxi drop off point is at the Pavillion Drive Carpark entry or the Southern Carpark via Pavillion Drive. There is absolutely no public entry for for cars or pedestrians via the main gates at 118 Montgomerie Road. To get a taxi after the show there is a taxi rank within the venue, it’s near the stage and well marked. If you are pre booking a taxi collection, they are allowed through the main gates at 118 Montgomerie Road one hour before the show ends. The collection point for pre-booked taxis is marked and is near the taxi rank.
Drop off point
All drop offs for general public, taxis, shuttles and buses etc will be at the Southern Carpark entry via Pavillion Drive. There absolutely is no public entry for for cars or pedestrians via the main gates at 118 Montgomerie Road.
