EVEN are one of the only independent Australian bands who have had releases in England, France, Germany, Brazil and the USA.
Their unique brand of supercool infectious power pop continues to garner signicant label interest across Europe and the Americas, with a deal just inked with Forte in the UK. They have been personally invited to play at the prestigious All Tomorrow's Parties Festival in the UK in May 2008. Band friend and fan The Dandy Warhol's Peter Holstrom plays on their new record. The Posies have invited Even to play on its up-coming Tribute record. Musicians and music lovers alike the world over hold the band in an elevated position of respect and adulation. Their new record took two years to make. It's the best thing they've ever done. Will their home town and country embrace this record and them just as the rest of the world is?
Even are the 'in' thing for music lovers! Intelligent, inspired, inspirational and into classic rock. And their forthcoming self-titled LP (released through Rubber Records/EMI/El Reno) is putting the 'in' into' credible'. Can't believe it? Read on...
And if you're thinking it's been some time since the last Even recording you'd be smarter than your average 5th grader. But Rome wasn't built in a recording studio over a mere three to four weeks. This new record has been over two years in the making for good reason. It's a little fu#ken beauty! And is something the band might be so bold as to describe as "something we're extremely proud of", "our best record ever" and "an Australian masterwork destined to free minds, inspire musicians and pull roots." It is the album all music lovers have been waiting for. Ash had some help of course from his Even band mates Matt Cotter and Wally Kempton and the studio wizardry of Wayne Connolly, Craig Pilkington and John Ruberto also came in handy.
And guest musos Bruce Haymes, Paul Thomas, Wayne Connolly, Lisa Gammaldi, Rob Price and... Dandy Warhol Peter Holstrom. True! Start by getting your ears around the feel good rockin' of 'The Common Law', 'Sister Rock' and 'I Am The Light', the introspective rockin' of 'Keep On Burning', 'I Walk On', and 'Which Way To Run' and the country swagger of 'The Fool Who Made
You Sad' and you too will fall in love with Even, the Melbourne trio revered for their musicianship and colon kickin' live shows!
